Reviews

Perfect cottage for a couple and a dog. Cottage was immaculately clean, well presented and extremely comfortable. Lovely views from balcony and whilst lounging in lounge. Garden self contained so excellent for the dog and a plethora of walks immediately accessible from cottage, as were lovely beaches that were almost deserted on each visit and a short stroll away. Bed was extremely comfortable and the en suite handy and with a good shower. Great location to explore the Gower Peninsula and surrounding areas of South Wales. We have already recommended to friends and family.

Mr A,

An excellent cottage for 2 people and a dog in a very quiet location. Dark skies at night if you are into star gazing. Well positioned for exploring the rest of the Gower peninsular and not too far from Swansea. The cottage is situated right next to a short, but rough, track to the Wales coast path, from where there is a good walk west to Port Eynon and a lovely walk east to Oxwich Bay. Both of these walks can be turned into circular walks directly from the cottage. The equipment provided was mostly good, seating and beds are comfortable. This was our second visit to the cottage.

Mr P,

Comfortable and well equipped cottage in a tucked away quiet location. Nice local walk to the coast path directly from the property. 10 mins drive to Oxwich Bay. Ideal base for exploring the Gower.

Mr M,

Great place, excellent location, lovely coastal walks from the property. We enjoyed the upside down living, the sea view from the sofa and the really comfortable bed.

Mrs N,

Lovely spot but to are a few miles from main road down single track with passing places . Could be an issue school hols not a problem quiet times

Mr Y,

Great location, off the grid and a 10 minute walk to a (mostly) deserted beach and within easy reach of several other beaches, 15 minute walk to Horton. The place itself has everything you'll need, decent wifi if you need it and it's really peaceful - a good place to feel away from it all. Right on the coastal path too, so great for exploring the Gower on foot, which feels like how it should be seen!

Mr E,

Beautiful little house in a stunning and peaceful location. The 5 minute walk and descent on to the beach was good prep for the morning swim. Nice beach too. Loved Slade, Oxwich, Rhossili and Broughton Bay. The Gower is stunning and we would happily return to this cottage.

Mr H,

Lovely hidden away quite cottage, very close to a lovely beach and lots of good walks.

Mr V,

Good secluded location. Enjoyed the sea view and veranda.

Mr T,

A vey comfortable house, really remote area.

Mrs S,

An excellent location. It was our fourth visit. Property could benefit from a bit of tlc. It’s definitely showing so wear and tear since our first trip & we have made the agency/owners aware of our thoughts.

Ms B,

Location is beautiful and amazing walks all nearby. Property is perfect for a couple looking to get away from it all. some cobwebs and spiders in many places, equipment is old and needs replacing and the information pack totally out of date. That aside, lovely surroundings but not sure the price being charged is right and needs a deep clean and new equipment if the price keeps rising.

Mr G,

This sweet little cottage is in a peaceful location with a view of the sea from the balcony/main window. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were very hard. The shower was lovely. The beach was close and the 5 minute walk there was tranquil. The problem was the only access once you arrived at the bay was down a sandy cliff face via a knotted rope which you literally absailed down and pulled yourself up with! It wasn't ideal The Gower is lovely and the location of the cottage is very rural and peaceful which we enjoyed. We had a very nice time at the cottage but would not return due to the reasons in the review.

Mrs W,

See above

Ms C,

Location was amazing but property a little tired and needs some updates

Mrs S,

Property was fine - no complaints.

Mr G,

We loved our stay beautiful place for walks exploring and rest which is what we needed. We've already recommended it to people.

Mrs B,

Great location , clean and tidy

Mr Akroyd J,

The cottage was very comfortable to stay in and in a lovely location

Mr S,

Location

Oxwich is one of South Gower's most picturesque villages typified by thatched roofed cottages and with a castle and interesting Saxon church located just a stones throw from the sea. It is nestled in the curve of Oxwich Bay- a beautiful, wide expanse of sandy beach stretching all the way to Three Cliffs Bay.
