There is easy access to the beach for people with limited mobility and good facilities for families with young children make this one of the Gower's most visited beaches. Popular activities include swimming and sea kayaking as well as surfing when conditions allow. The beach side shop is well stocked with all the essentials for building sandcastles and refreshments are available at cafes alongside the beach. Away from the beach, more shops and services are available in the nearby village of Bishopston and in the Mumbles. The beach is close to Bishop's Wood Local Nature reserve, designated trails within the Nature Reserve link with the coast path in this area. The coast path east towards Langland offers fine views across the Bristol channel to north Devon.
