Golden sands that seem to stretch on forever, caves, rock pools, woodlands, clear waters… Caswell Bay has it all. Nestled in between the villages of Bishopston and Newton, Caswell Bay sits in a valley and is popular with locals and visitors alike.

Patrolled by lifeguards during the summer months, the beach is a great place for various types of water sports from swimming and body-boarding to kayaking and it’s long, sandy beach is ideal for a bit of frizbee, kite-flying or good old-fashioned sandcastle building!

If you’ve always wanted to surf, Caswell is a great place to learn as it not only has a surf school but the gentle slope of the beach means the waves are not too big. Once you’ve dried off you can grab a quick refreshment at the Surfside Café. Open most of the year, the café serves a range of snacks. During the summer months other beachside nearby shops serve ice-creams, soft drinks and lots of beach equipment from windbreakers and buckets & spades to kites and cricket sets.

The local authority has recently refurbished the public toilets and to the north of the beach is a huge pay and display car park which backs on to Bishops Wood nature reserve – a great place to explore with the family.
