Description
Nestled down the country lanes of rural Staffordshire, this renovated barn on a working farm is ideal for families or friends seeking a peaceful retreat. Relax in the picturesque setting or enjoy countryside walks along public footpaths directly from the property. Despite the secluded feel, the historic town of Eccleshall, with its award-winning butcher, pubs, restaurants, and shops, is just 3 miles away. Stone, home to Staffordshire’s largest Farmers’ market, is nearby, offering canal strolls and the National Trust site of Downs Bank. Local attractions like The Potteries, Alton Towers, Trentham Gardens, and Shugborough Estate are within an hour's drive, or travelling slightly further afield you can explore the Shropshire/Cheshire Plains, Southern Peak District, and Cannock Chase - plenty to keep those who love the outdoors occupied. If you are more of a fishing enthusiast then Baden Hall Fishery is just outside Eccleshall, situated just 5 miles from the property and offers specimen, match and pleasure fishing. Situated in the middle of England, the barn is also ideal for remote work, boasting superfast fibre broadband, easy access to the M6 and East Midlands Airport, and a tranquil environment to “switch off” in the evenings.
The single-level layout of the barn, with two steps down to three of the four bedrooms, fosters an open and inclusive environment, creating a sense of togetherness for the whole group. Take the ramp to the front door and step into the large entrance hall, ideal for removing muddy shoes and outdoor attire. Move then into the main open-plan living area - spacious and beautifully filled with natural light from the floor-to-ceiling glazing that run along the garden side of the property. A large island sits in the centre of the fully equipped modern kitchen. You will be charmed by the original barn features of exposed brickwork and original timber beams, tastefully blended with the contemporary décor and modern luxuries - not forgetting the underfloor heating that runs throughout the barn. A utility room and separate WC sits just off the kitchen, along with a level-access double bedroom and its ensuite shower room. When it's time for the group to settle in for the evening, enjoy the luxurious atmosphere of a traditional log burner whilst indulging in the favourite family board game or complimentary Netflix on the spacious sofas. Heading back through the entrance hall and down the steps, you will find the family bathroom servicing two super-king bedrooms - available as twins on request. The final bedroom is the master suite complete with a super-king bed, ensuite shower room and patio doors that exit onto the enclosed garden. To ensure your canine members of the family enjoy their getaway too, a dog washing station, treats, dog specific towels, beds, water and feeding bowls are provided for their use and enjoyment.
In the warmer months connect with the outdoors by sliding open the bi-fold doors, maximising the space in your large, south-facing garden. The lawn area is perfect for young children and dogs to frolic under the summer sun until their hearts’ content. As the busyness of the day wanes, fire up the gas BBQ and enjoy al fresco dining; relax and soak up the last of the evenings’ warmth in the tranquillity of this beautiful rural setting.
