The Gower Peninsula is famous for its beaches however the area is also well known as an excellent dive spot, especially off the western points of Gower.
Launching Your Boat
The three main spots from where to launch your boat are Knab Rock in Mumbles, Oxwich and Port Eynon. For a small fee, the latter two beaches have some local fishermen with tractors who are more than happy to help out if your vehicle is not designed for the beach!
What’s In The Water?
The sea in Gower is known for its wide variety of inhabitants including bass, Pollack and spider crabs. What could be better than getting to see these unique life forms up close and personal?
There are also some wrecks located off the Gower Coast, and the following site gives an indication as to where they are http://www.gowershipwrecks.co.uk

Not A Diver?
Of course, water sports may not be for everyone. If exploring the depths is not your idea of fun, there is plenty to do nearby.
Knab Rock is situated in the heart of Mumbles, so if your other half is launching from there, you have shops, restaurants, bars, parks, amusement arcades, ice-cream parlours, a castle plus lots of other places to visit to fill the day.
The Oxwich Bay Hotel (https://www.oxwichbayhotel.co.uk) and Beach House (http://beachhouseoxwich.co.uk) are two superb venues on the beach at Oxwich and ideal to spend a few hours of the day.
At Port Eynon, there is the locally run Pub / Restaurant called The Ship Inn (http://www.shipinngower.co.uk) as well as some great, authentic fish and chip shops nearby alongside the wonderful beach.
